We would like to thank everyone, who came out to our Fall Community Clean-Up Event in West Augustine, where we joined together with the West Augustine Improvement Association to get rid of some of trash that is lining the streets in our community. We couldn't have done it without you.
It wasn't a big crowd today, but we got a lot done with the help of those, who came out despite the gloomy weather on a busy weekend before thanksgiving.
With their help, we collected over 30 trash-bags full of garbage, a treasure chest, 1 fish tank, 3 televisions, a carpet, and 4 tires.

Long-time community leaders John Lyons and Willie Cooper from the West Augustine Improvement Association are always eager to help out in the community, and they are great partners for the West Augustine Nature Society.

|Earl Daniels and Mr. Louis diligently collected trash left behind by the clean-up participants, which made the clean-up process much faster and efficient.|
We want to give a special thank you to Mr. Denny at the St. Johns County Adopt-A-Road program. We are especially grateful for the partnership and assistance.
At the end of the clean-up event, free plants from Dancing Treetops were given out to the clean-up participants, so that they can grow their own edible plants at home.
The next community clean-up event will be on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is on Monday, January 16th, 2023.
We will start next to the Pinehurst and San Sebastian Cemetery located on 711 Pearl Street, St. Augustine, FL, where the West Augustine Improvement Association will be hosting an event as well, and afterwards will continue down to the MLK march in downtown St. Augustine.
If you would like to join us, or if you are an organization, club, business or church interested in becoming a part of the MLK day events, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at westaugustinenaturesociety(@)gmail.com.
