Thank You For Helping at the Earth Day, Every Day Clean-Up Event at the Old Elementary School - 68 Bags of Trash Collected

We would like to thank everybody who showed up at the Earth Day, Every Day Event on Sunday.

Because of all your help we were able to bag up about 68 bags of garbage, which meas that we've managed to get over 200 bags of garbage off the street this year alone.

A special thank you to the Interact and the Key Club of St. Augustine High School plus Reset St. Augustine for coming out and helping us make the world a little greener. We had a total of about 51 people attend the event yesterday.

Morgan Mousley, English teacher and Key Club sponsor at St. Augustine High School braved the bushes to help us get rid of an area full of garbage and bottles galore.

All of the volunteers worked extremely hard, and we are so thankful for their help.

We would also like to thank our sponsors for helping us get supplies and making the raffle that took place at the event possible.

We were able to give green prizes such as plants, reusable straws and reusable produce bags to any volunteer, who stayed until the end of the event thanks to our donors. That includes the donations from Michael Israel on behalf of the ASSIST program from Homeless Student Services in partnership with the Community Leadership Council at the Webster School, Diesel Barbershop of St. Johns, Art's Nursery, Dancing Treetops, Ms. Alicia Bell, a proud West Augustine Resident and Rodney Maintenance Services in West Augustine. Thank you for helping us support our amazing volunteers!

New Augustine Colored Elementary School #36

Thanks to all of our fantastic volunteers, we were able to make the streets around school #6 in West Augustine a little cleaner. Unfortunately we barely made a dent in the amount of trash despite the 68 bags of garbage collected.

We also want to thank the St. John's County for helping us get rid of the trash.

If you would like to help us continue the mission to keep West Augustine green, please check out the How To Help tab at the top of the page.
