Bagging Trash Piles In West Augustine

Today we were off from school, because it was teacher planning day. We figured that we should do something helpful with our day off, so we started the day by cleaning up a couple of big trash piles in our neighborhood.

Outrageous Wetland Pollution In West Augustine

Over the years that I have lived in West Augustine, I've seen pollution growing in our local wetlands. I have seen trash bags full of people's garbage.

I have seen metal and wooden fences in the wetlands, Styrofoam food containers and cups, plastic bags, fast food bags and much, much more. Most of all I have seen bottles - beer bottles, plastic water bottles, energy drink bottles, liquor bottles, even the free drinking bottles that our schools have provided to us students.

2020 Clean-Up Events

In 2020 the West Augustine Nature Society held several small clean-up events in the neighborhood. The launch of the organization was impacted by Covid-19, but throughout the year we've discovered that cleaning up the neighborhood can easily be done safely by implementing social distancing and using face coverings.
